NOTICE OF RULE CHANGE
On October 2, 2018 the board of directors passed a rule change which is reflected in the posted board minutes that reads as follows:
Item 5. Rule change.
The board approved a motion to change the rules in order to prohibit an Open Ranch or Nursery handler from running an Open or Open Ranch/Nursery dog in the Ranch class. This rule change involves modification of several sentences through the rules to clear up inconsistencies. The modified rule will be published before the TSDA finals and take effect immediately following the finals. The rule change drew a unanimous vote of approval.
Unfortunately, the rule change passed by the prior board was never incorporated into the rules posted on the website. The board is now correcting that mistake and is now posting the revised rules to the web site. The particular changes made to the rules are summarized below.
As we voted in the meeting, to make the rule change so that an Open Ranch handler could not take an Open, Open Ranch, or Nursery dog and run in Ranch class required amending the rules in three places.
1. Section III, B, 1, e (item “e” under the definition of an Open Ranch Handler): “This handler may move an Open Ranch or Open dog down to the Ranch Class.” This sentence has been deleted in its entirety.
2. Section III, B, 2, f (item ”f” under the definition of an OR dog): “An Open Ranch hander, under the following provisions, may purchase and move a dog from the Open or the Open Ranch Class to the Ranch Class.” The underlined portion has been deleted. The amended sentence reads, "An Open Ranch handler, under the following provisions, may purchase and move a dog from the Open or Open Ranch Class to the Open Ranch Class."
3. Section III, E, 2, a, 2: "Nursery dogs are treated as Open Ranch dogs regarding movement from one class to another." This sentence has been amended to, "Nursery dogs who have never competed in the Open Class are treated as Open Ranch dogs regarding movement from one class to another."
The TSDA Rules will relect this change once it is loaded by Richard Mueller - Webmaster. This may take a few days before it is included in the actual Rules.
