  • All received entries have been posted to web.  Due to the large number of entries for Top of the Hill, it looks unlikely that third dogs will be allowed to run and possible those who entered after the opening date (envelopes post marked after Jan 3) will be wait listed.
  • I will do my best to run as many dogs as possible, but 100 dogs (60 Open, 40 OR/Nursery) for the two runs is what time and sheep will allow.    Thanks Ron Burkey

  • Two Open trials and two runs of  Nursery / Open Ranch combined. Entries wanting to run in both Open Ranch and Nursery must pay two entry fees. If time permits there will be a Double Lift Gather on Sunday for the top 10 combined Open scores.
  • Order of  Classes:   Open, Nursery/Open Ranch, Open, Nursery/Open Ranch.  Classes may run continuously.

  • Entry Fee: $60.00 all classes
  • Entries may be limited. Maximum 3 dogs per handler, per class.  Send separate check for third dog.
  • We will run as many third dogs as space allows, by random draw if necessary.
  • Payback:  All after expenses, not according to TSDA guidelines
  • Entry opening date: January 2, 2017. Entry deadline is February 2, 2017.  Entries must include fees. No refunds after February 15, 2017

  • JUDGE:  John Maginn: John is a sheep Farmer from Co. Down in Northern Ireland. Has been running dogs in trials for over 40 years.  Mostly breed and train his own dogs. Has many accolades under his belt including winning the Irish National Sheepdog trials TWICE. Once in 1994 with Glen and current Irish National Champion at present with Mozz.  Represented Ireland many times in the International Sheepdog Trials having good success with Mozz and Fly. Been on one man on his dog representing Ireland. Over the years  has judged many trials both home and abroad and has even traveled to Canada to judge trials there.  John judged TSDA State Finals in 1915.

Directions

Directions:  From downtown Fredericksburg, go west on Main Street to where Hwy 290 and Hwy 87 split. Go left 7.3 miles out Hwy 290 toward Harper. About 6 miles out you will cross Honey Creek and just a little farther you will cross Honey Creek again. Start watching on the right for Reeh Weinheimer Rd. It’s on a curve so you have to be watching.  Turn right on Reeh Weinheimer Rd and go 3.1 miles to Weinheimer  Rd. Turn right and go 1.8 miles. After the second cattle guard, watch for Sundheimer Rd on your left. This is a caliche ranch road. Stay on this road until the fourth gate which is a metal Lifetime gate, about 1 mile in. (don’t turn left on Mc Iinish rd) This is the entrance to our ranch. Stay on the same road until you come to another gate on the left. Turn here and follow around until you see the trial field.
